Whatever assembly you've stripped down to, open the drawing for exactly that assembly and tap a part to get its number — no flipping through manuals or calling the parts counter.

Seven jobs mechanics and owners do every day, set against four ways of looking things up. The judgements are qualitative, and about T2Car they only say what it does today.
| The job | T2Car | Paper & PDF manuals | Asking a garage or parts shop | Searching forums & the web |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Find a part number from a VIN | Does it wellType it, scan it with the camera or read it from a photo; get the matching cars and part numbers. | PartlyPossible, but you match the model year and version yourself across many pages. | PartlyYou get an answer if you ask, depending on who is there and when they are open. | PartlyYou get results, but it is hard to be sure they fit your exact car. |
| See where a part sits on the car (exploded diagram) | Does it wellZoom the drawing, tap a number to light up the part, tap a part line to see where it sits. | PartlyClear drawings exist, but you flip to find the page and trace the numbers yourself. | Hard or not at allUsually given in words or a code, rarely with a picture. | PartlyPictures are scattered and do not always match your model year. |
| Read a wiring or fuse diagram | PartlyFor cars with electrical documents: open the fuse box, zoom to each fuse and see the connector pins. | PartlyRepair manuals often include wiring diagrams, if you have the right one for the right car. | Hard or not at allAn experienced mechanic can point to the place, but a whole diagram is hard to say aloud. | PartlyIt can be found, but quality and completeness vary. |
| Understand an OBD fault code | Does it wellMore than 12,000 generic codes to SAE J2012, with common causes and brand-specific codes where available. | PartlyA code table in the manual gives the generic meaning, seldom how to check. | Does it wellA mechanic with a scan tool can explain it for your exact car, but you have to go there. | PartlyPlenty of articles, uneven in quality, so you filter them yourself. |
| Work in your own language | Does it well20 languages, switched inside the app, including Arabic written right to left. | PartlyThe language of the edition you happen to have. | PartlyEasy to talk to, but every place names parts differently. | PartlyDepends on the site; often you translate it yourself. |
| Have it on the phone, at the car | Does it wellOpens on your phone, with job tickets to pin cars and part numbers. | Hard or not at allBooks are heavy, and PDFs are hard to read on a small screen beside the car. | PartlyYou have to call or go to the counter. | PartlyOpens on a phone, but results are spread over many pages. |
| Cost | PartlyFree to download, a 3-day trial with everything open; then a plan per brand or Ultra Max. | PartlyUsually bought per brand or per model year. | Does it wellUsually no separate charge for a lookup, paid for in waiting time. | Does it wellMostly free, paid for in time spent searching and filtering. |
The judgements on the other ways are general, because every manual, parts counter and website differs. T2Car does not have diagrams for every car; the app says so when a model has none.
Who it's for
Whatever assembly you've stripped down to, open the drawing for exactly that assembly and tap a part to get its number — no flipping through manuals or calling the parts counter.
Type or scan the number printed on the parts box and instantly see which diagram the part is in, which engines it fits, and its thread and dimensions.
Starting from the code the tool just read, see what each character means, then move on to the documents and diagrams for the related system on the exact car you're working on.
FAQ
No. T2Car helps you find part numbers and positions faster, but the final call is still checking against the car in front of you and the mechanic's own judgement.
Yes. The first three days open the full catalogue; after that, a free account can view the Audi and BMW sample content in the app, with no daily limit on documents read. A membership unlocks more — it's sold through Apple's In-App Purchase and you can cancel anytime in iOS Settings.
No. Some brands and models are named in the catalogue but have no diagrams yet, and the app says so on screen instead of leaving a blank.
A generic code tells you which system reported the fault, with common causes. The same code can have several causes depending on brand, model year and engine, so it still needs checking on the car.
