From the car to its place on the exploded diagram

An exploded diagram shows how the parts in an assembly fit together. The drawing proves its worth when you connect the position, callout number and part name to the car you're looking up.

01. Start from the vehicle configuration

Choose the make and model line, then check the configuration details the catalogue provides. The same model name can cover several engine, transmission or production-date variants.

  • Make and model line.
  • Model year or production period, if available.
  • Engine, transmission and the variant you're working on.

02. Read from the main assembly down to the callout number

Choose the system you need and open the available diagram. Look over the whole assembly first, then follow the callout number at the position you're checking. Interactive callouts link to part details when the catalogue has the data.

The callout number on the drawing and the part number are two different things. Read the related part details to identify the correct number.

03. Check against the job in front of you

Check the part's name, position and application details against the car. An assembly drawing doesn't replace the removal and installation instructions or the specifications a repair job requires.

If the model line has no diagram yet, go back and check your vehicle selection, or send the specific details so T2Car can help check the catalogue.
