Electrical and control module
P0562 — System Voltage Low
The ECU measures a system voltage below the normal range. Low voltage can make sensors and modules misbehave and may leave the car unable to start.
Common causes
- Weak or failing battery
- Failing alternator or loose drive belt
- Corroded or loose battery terminals
- Poor ground connection
- Excessive electrical load
Symptoms
- Dim lights and slow cranking
- Warning lights on the dashboard
- Electrical gremlins and multiple codes
- Stalling
How to check
- Test battery voltage: at rest about 12.4-12.7 V, and with the engine running about 13.8-14.7 V
- Inspect terminals and ground straps for corrosion
- Check the belt and perform an alternator output test
- Check the battery with a load tester
Can you keep driving?
Drive only if charging is working; if the battery is not charging, the car can stop without warning. Repair it soon.
